Welcome to Textilmuseum Tant Vanja on Brunnsvägen 42 in Dals Rostock!
Open every day 11-17 June 24 - August 20
The person who runs the museum is Kerstin Lindeberg and lives in Dals Rostock in Dalsland. She has always been interested in textile crafts in old techniques and materials and through her work as an occupational therapist she has learned from the elderly on the farms and collected a lot of exciting textiles and knowledge about how they were made.
She wants to show what is in the cupboards, especially everyday textiles. The idea is that everyone who is interested should help to collect and care for the remnants that remain from the time of self-sufficiency.
She wants to show and tell our children and grandchildren how it was possible to prepare linen and wool, form a thread, weave and sew, sew, repair and preserve the smallest rag until the last remnants were stuffed as a seal in the log walls.
On the website you can see the objects up close and admire the craftsmanship of previous generations.
