The rooms are divided on three floors, no elevator is available.

Dogs are welcome in some of the rooms.

Big groups of guests can also be held during music and sports events, exhibitions and conferences.

Mariestad's old prison

The Danish author H. C. Andersen that visited the building described it "... as a big pleasure palace is this building whitewashed, smiling, with windows on windows in a stunning nature next to running water...".

The prison was operating from 1848-2010 until the last remaining prisoners was moved. Since the spring of 2018 has the property been remodeled into a hotel and hostel. The renovations have happened slow and carefully to preserve the memory since 1993. Inside these walls are fascinating artwork and other exciting details left from when the prison was operating. On the attic floor can a church with a lovely roof dome be found.
