Farm shop & smokehouse

At Hygns Vilt, just south of Kristinehamn, you’ll find a small-scale farm shop with a strong focus on quality, sustainability and flavour. The shop offers cuts of venison, wild boar, moose, beef, pork and lamb – all slaughtered and prepared on site. Meat is carefully sourced from selected farms, many organic or KRAV-certified.

The deli counter is filled with homemade food like sauces, gratins, pizzas, pies, lunch boxes and desserts. Everything is prepared from scratch in the farm’s own kitchen, using local and seasonal ingredients. During summer, the shop also offers a variety of marinated meats ready for the grill.

Traditional charcuterie

Sausages are handmade in the on-site smokehouse, using traditional methods with alder wood. You’ll also find air-dried and fermented charcuterie – all crafted with great care and culinary expertise. The smokehouse also produces meat products for other small businesses.

Summer café in the garden

During the summer season, you can enjoy a homemade lunch, pastry or sheep’s milk ice cream in the peaceful garden café. A perfect stop during a countryside road trip south of Kristinehamn.

Handpicked local products

Besides their own meat products, the shop offers selected treats from small local producers: cheeses, honey, jams, marmalades, crispbread, chocolates and more. The assortment changes regularly.

Catering & festive food

Hygns Vilt also offers catering for events, weddings or smaller picnics – always using their own meat and seasonal ingredients. In autumn and winter, the shop is filled with wild-inspired festive foods such as moose cordon bleu, smoked venison, wild sausages and handmade Christmas delicacies.

A family business with strong values

Founded in 1997, Hygns Vilt is a family-owned business now entering its third generation. The whole production takes place on the farm – from animal raising to ready-made meals – with high quality standards and a deep respect for nature and raw ingredients. The farm also works actively with sustainability, landscape conservation and eco-friendly packaging.
