Expansive views over Lake Vänern
Spectacular vista
This 19-metre-tall tower was built in 1892 on the summit of Kinnekulle (306 m) and the views are truly magnificent. In clear weather you can see 80-90 kilometres across Lake Vänern up towards Skoghall and Karlstad and the whole of the Värmlandsnäs peninsula. To the west is Kålland and Kållandsö with Läckö Castle and Hindens Rev nature reserve. On the horizon the whole of the Dalsland coastline can be seen bordering Lake Vänern, as well as Halle and Hunneberg. If you look to the east, Billingen and the landscapes away towards Karlsborg and Tiveden can be seen.
In order to give some idea of the scope of the vista you encounter, you are standing at a height above Lake Vänern equivalent to the highest viewing platform of the Eiffel Tower, namely 276 m.
