Philosophy and method of breeding

The philosophy of the business is to let the animals go out all year round, providing healthier animals and a more flavorful meat, as well as a more natural life for the animals.

The food consists of KRAV-approved pasture grass. The supplementary feeding during the winter takes place with KRAV-approved self-produced roughage in the form of hay and ensilage.

It provides a so-called stone-age meat, also called grass-fed meat, which has a different protein and fatty acid composition (high Omega-3 content) than conventionally produced meat. This type of meat is healthier according to dietary experts.

Short history of the farm East Eketorp

The farm Östra Eketorp is situated in the beautiful area of Södra Råda which is situated on the lake Skagern, where the three landscapes Västergötland, Värmland and Närke meet. Östra Eketorp has been dating since the 16th century. The current manor house was built in 1732 by Peter von Bähr. For much of the 1700, 1800 and 19th centuries, the farm was used by royal caroline captains. In the early 20th century, Eketorp transitioned from state ownership to civilians.

Almost all sales are direct to the customer. On the farm there is a small shop but it is recommended to order by calling or [mailto:ekensstyckeri@outlook.com]. Slaughter, cutting, machining and packaging take about two weeks, after which the collection of the meat can occur. All meat is cut and marked and the milk meat is malt to the meat.
