Note: Cows are grazing, so it is not suitable to bring dogs on the hiking trail from May 1, 2024, until late summer.
The nature reserve Dyrön is situated at the southernmost point of the community of Kristinehamn. You can get here both by land and sea. The area has a hiking trail (2,7 km one way), information boards, picnic areas and an outdoor toilet without water. The reserve has dramatic beaches, rich birdlife, smallscale farming dating back to the 16th century, forests, meadowland and breathtaking views of Lake Vänern, the third largest lake in Europe.
The hiking trail passes thru cow pastures and cows do not like dogs. Therefore we recommend you do not bring your dog when the cows are in the pastures.
