Arskagsleden is one of three Visnums-kils trails. The trail takes you through pastures with old oaks, nice meadows and forests with mainly deciduous trees.
Note: Cows are grazing, so it is not suitable to bring dogs on the hiking trail from May 1, 2024, until late summer.
Arskagsleden is located in the southern part of the nature reserve Nötön-Åråsviken. Sandholmsudden has a rest area with benches and table in an opening in the forest. From Arskagsudden you have a nice view of lake Vänern. The rest area has a wind shelter, campfire pit, outdoor toilet, benches and tables. To the south you see Åråsviken which is a wonderful part of the lake with a labyrinth of small islands and reed areas.
The trail runs, to a large part, through pastures with grazing cows. The animals can be very curious and the trail is therefore not suitable for dogs during the period when cows are grazing.
If you combine Arskagsleden with Nötöleden you get 13 km of trails. In the area you also find Prästöleden.
