In the museum Kanal- och sjöfartsmuseet can you can learn more about the exciting history of shipping on lake Vänern and the Göta Canal. See the equipment that was used to dig the canal over 200 years ago, plus old boats, drawings, wrecked boats, letters and so on.
Cafe and shopping
At Café Baltzar you can enjoy som Swedish fika or today´s lunch. In the same building you also find some shopping (clothes, presents and decorations for your home). There is even more shopping by the canal, just east of the bridge in central Sjötorp.
Nearby there is also a Waffle house, in the yellow building just by locks 2-3. Enjoy a tasty waffle in this cute house, decorated in turn of the century style.
